New Zealand Standards are produced by the NZ Standards Association, and are usually joint standards with Australia. The library holds most of these Standards, if they are current. Standards are reference only, for you to read in the Library, but not to take out. Standards may not be photocopied.
Standards are not searchable on the library catalogue.

If you are not in the library:
The Library also holds some British Standards, but only those published up until 1992. Catalogues are available for these standards.
If the library no longer holds the New Zealand Standard you need, we may be able to Interloan it for you, from a library elsewhere in NZ. This is a paid-for service. Library staff can search for Standards holdings on Te Puna, the National Library's 'bibliographic database' which lists items held by libraries throughout New Zealand. The Library also holds a subscription to the CRI webpage, which has New Zealand holdings for other standards.
If you need a standard that has not been published in New Zealand, the Prosearch Office, 1st floor, Central Library, may be able to source it for you, using an international Interloan. This is a paid-for service.
As well as popular standard NZS 3604:1999 Timber Framed Buildings, the library also holds the Building Code. This is available at the Sciences and Humanities desk in hardcopy and on CD-ROM.
