Storytime is every Thursday at Miramar Library at 10:15am in the children's area. Storytime runs for about half an hour, with stories and songs. Pre-school storytimes are fun and free - there's no charge, and you don't have to book. Storytime is aimed at pre-school age children (three and four years old) - but younger siblings are always welcome!

Our holiday programmes cater for both pre-school and
school kids. We have different themes and activities
every school holidays, from craft workshops to boardgame
races to reading competitions. This year we have had Puss 'n Boots, Space, & The Lion in the Meadow themed
programmes with stories & crafts. Coming up at Miramar Library - Thursday 24th December at 10:15am: Christmas stories followed by decoration making.

We have a glass display cabinets that we need to fill with your wonderful collections! We have had toy poodles; Matchbox Cars; pet rocks; etchings, and dolls from around the world. Right now we have a clay figures from Race relations Day on display.
Baby Rock & Rhyme will be starting at Miramar Library on Tuesday 13th of October.This popular programme, aimed at 0-2 year olds, is held every Tuesday during term time. It is an interactive fun-filled session of rhymes, songs and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers. Starts at 10:15 and runs for approximately 20 minutes. Baby Rock & Rhyme CDs are now available from the Library for $15.
On Thursday 19th we celebrated Race Relations Day by making clay earth people after school. You can see what the people in our neighbourhood look like in our display cabinet! Check out the Earth People Blog for more information.
We now have several internet computers giving free access to thousands of selected sites including newspapers, government, university, encyclopedia and iwi websites. These computers are proving very popular, especially after school.
This friendly group of local Chinese residents meet for morning tea on the second Tuesday of each month at Miramar Library between 10 & 11am. There is also a meeting every second Tuesday of the month at Newtown Library. All welcome.
A new Book Club has started. Meetings are held on the first Friday of the month from 10:30 - 11:30. Places are limited so please call the Miramar Library on 388 8005 for more information.
