Baby Rock & Rhyme

Baby Rock & Rhyme at Miramar Library

Baby Rock & Rhyme will be resuming at Miramar Library on Tuesday 2nd of February.This popular programme, aimed at 0-2 year olds, is held every Tuesday during term time. It is an interactive fun-filled session of rhymes, songs and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers. Starts at 10:15 and runs for approximately 20 minutes. Baby Rock & Rhyme CDs are now available from the Library for $15.

Storytime

Storytime

Storytime is every Thursday at Miramar Library at 10:15am in the children's area. Storytime runs for about half an hour, with stories and songs. Pre-school storytimes are fun and free - there's no charge, and you don't have to book. Storytime is aimed at pre-school age children (three and four years old) - but younger siblings are always welcome!

Our September/Ocober holiday programme is New Zealand author-themed an will take place on Tuesday October 5th. The author is still to be announced. Ring us on 388 8005 for more detailed information, or visit the libraries' Kids' What's On page.

Miramar Library hosted an Italian puppet show called "Pulcinella comes to New Zealand"

 

Kōhunga Kōrero


Our new Kōhunga Kōrero storytime in te reo Māori is at 10.15 am the fourth Thursday of the month here at Miramar Library. Join us for 30 mins of stories, rhymes and songs in te reo Māori for preschoolers and their caregivers. Check out here for times at our other libraries!

Matariki Celebrations

We celebrated Matariki in June by making clay Kaitiaki (guardians) for the new year with Vivian Rodrieguez, potter in residence at the Wellington Potters Association.

Other happenings

Dr Nick and Hercules visit Miramar Library Sea Holiday programme

We now have several internet computers giving free access to thousands of selected sites including newspapers, government, university, encyclopedia and iwi websites. A paid internet service provides access to email and search engines. These computers are proving very popular, especially after school.
